IPR-Helpdesk

The main objectives of the EC-funded IPR-Helpdesk are

  • “The aim and purpose of the IPR-Helpdesk is to raise awareness of Intellectual Property Rights and not to give legally binding advice.
  • It is intended to provide any relevant information which may be of assistance to anyone with Intellectual Property queries or concerns.”

It is operated under a contract co-financed by the European Commission, and run with a number of partners including Queen Mary & Westfield College in the United Kingdom.

This web site contains a range of EU-related intellectual property related information including on Framework Six Programme (see below), Framework Five Programme, as well as more general information on intellectual property issues (e.g. “What is copyright?”, “What is protected by Copyright”, Software Copyright and the Computer Programmer, etc.). Users of the web site can sign up for a bulletin and ask the IPR-Helpdesk questions.
