  • PIramed Limited on a research collaboration agreement with the Institute of Cancer Research and Cancer Research Technology Limited to develop drugs targeting a critically important biochemical pathway in cancer cells. View the press release.
  • YM Biosciences Inc on a development and licence agreement with Oncoscience AG for YM Biosciences' TheraCIM hR3 (the company's EGF receptor antibody therapeutic for the treatment of cancer).
  • Xenova Group plc on its acquisition of KS Biomedix Holdings plc. Anderson & Company acted in an in-house capacity, and provided legal advice and assistance throughout the negotiations leading to the deal. View the press release.

  • Imperial College on a grant of �20 million by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The grant is to establish the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative, a partnership at Imperial College (including the Foundation, the World Health Organisation and the Harvard School of Public Health).   • a client (overseas company providing financial services to consumers in the UK) on the acquisition of a major new computer system incorporating telephone and web site customer purchasing and accounting software.
  • a client (university spin-off company) on a termination and settlement agreement with a multinational corporation. The agreement terminates a patent licence granted by our client to the multinational corporation dating back to the mid-1990s and provides for substantial payments to our client.
  • a life-style/healthcare company on formation of “dot.com” business, including trading relationships, web site terms and conditions, content agreements, etc.

Other matters

Other matters where we have recently acted include:

  • assisting a company (successfully) in a cypersquatting complaint before the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
  • advising on an agreement to sell a client's patent royalty stream to a US financial firm in return for a lump sum payment.
  • advising on the buy-out of a client’s royalty obligations under a licence agreement in return for a lump sum payment.
  • providing a UK university with standard contract documentation for spin-out transactions.
  • advising a UK university on standard contract documentation for a range of research contracts, intellectual property licences and the like.
  • providing company secretarial services to UK companies.
  • advising the UK subsidiary of a private Japanese company that manufactures and sells hair care and sports products, on a range of trading and business matters.
  • establishing employee share options schemes for several clients, including both EMI, SIP and Executive schemes.
  • representing small business and professional clients in commercial litigation in the County Court (including partnership disputes).
  • advising a UK client on a dispute with a French company over the quality of work performed by the French company.
  • advising a company that designs and manufactures artificial hip joints on a range of commercial issues including trading relationships and product liability issues.
  • advising on infringement of designs made by a student at our university client by a manufacturer and supplier of clothing.
  • advising a French biotech company client on collaboration agreements with partners in Europe and North America.
  • advising on numerous confidentiality agreements, materials transfer agreements, letters of intent, research and development agreements, trials and evaluation agreements, IP licences, joint ventures, conditions of sale and purchase, supply and distribution agreements, company formations, service agreements with senior executives, consultancy contracts, etc.
  • advising individuals and small companies on commercial and residential property disputes (including landlord and tenant).
  • advising executive employees on employment law issues including unfair dismissal and restrictive covenants.
